Steering arm options
Hi.
I'm finally getting a chance to work on my steering and spindles. This is the first time I've had it apart. The balls on both sides are badly worn. I see that snyders has steering arms that have been renewed. Is this what most do? I like the idea of having reconditioned Ford parts over something brand new. Thanks for any input. |

To my knowledge, no one is producing new steering arms, so you will be forced to restore your arms however might I suggest you consider purchasing one of the new Pitman Arms that is shorter than they were originally. |

Re: Steering arm options
Just be sure they are done like Brent says
Others often drill ball and shank out and weld thru the remaining iron. Greatly weakens the assembly. I’ve seen them fail. Check with Bert’s and inquire as to procedures…I think they do them that way. |
