Progress on speedster body
The body is now ready to be glassed up with the WEST system.
Because it's planned to be painted, a fair bit of time has been spent with bog to get the body as fair as possible. Interestingly, we were planning to paint it black but the WEST people said it would absorb too much heat and the system would soften so we have to go for a lighter colour Keith (in a still very warm New Zealand) |

Re: Progress on speedster body
That is some beautiful wood working. Are you using bucket seats to retain access to all that storage room out back?

Yes bucket seats with tilt backs for access to the storage area
I wanted to put a hatch in the rear deck, but waterproofing and security were an issue and you wouldn't believe the amount of work involved in just making the one door |

A rich yellow is the current choice with the grey wheels and grey upholstery

That's an F150 Box on a MACS Speed shop bell housing. You might aso have picked a quick change rear end, not one of yours, but an old one out of a speedway midget I believe. It was cheaper than a new crown wheel and pinion as it came with a good set but I didn't realise that the carrier needed machining to clear the shaft and that I had to get a open drive kitset. The F150 spigot fits the Model A flywheel perfectly and a Falcon driveshaft fits the F150 box perfectly. Amazing Ford commonality over many years! Cheers, Keith |

Re: Progress on speedster body
Keith , hi looking forward to racing you at the next nats , looks like i need to loose some weight , Our new hi tec input shaft clears the carrier so no machining needed, .
