36 passenger side hinge pin mirror
Anyone have one they can see out of from the driver's side? Anyone modified one to make it usable?

Re: 36 driver side hinge pin mirror
You may have it installed incorrectly. I never heard of a hinge pin mirror that didn't provide good visibility.

Re: 36 passenger side hinge pin mirror
I don't see the problem there either. What is blocking your vision of the mirror? I'll admit a small difference between the '36 and '38 mirror arms, yours is straight, mine is curved, but the positions of the mirrors are very similar, or so I thought?

Re: 36 passenger side hinge pin mirror
I have a '35 and a '36 and in both cases I have found the passenger mirror to be totally useless. Maybe someone else found a way to adjust it but I could find no way it could be to allow for driver use.

Re: 36 passenger side hinge pin mirror
There is no easy fix to this issue outside of installing west coast truck mirrors on the passenger side. The best results have been obtained by swapping the 4" head mirror out for a redesigned 4" Convex style mirror giving a more wider view range.

Re: 36 passenger side hinge pin mirror
A very simple solution to limited visibility on the right side is to purchase a round convex "fish eye" mirror from a local parts store.. Most of the round style will be approximately 4.25".. Remove the double stick tape from the convex mirror and glue it over the original mirror using clear silicone.
I always look for a mirror that has a metal edge in lieu of a black plastic edge.. The convex mirror will provide full vision on the right side. Some distortion will occur, however, that is easy to overcome.. I've used this type of mirror modification on many older vehicles, early Ford V8's and F-100's. works every time. The attached pix are of the mirror on the right side on my '39 conv cpe.. The mirrors are after market "Swan" mirrors.. I did not like the looks of the door pin mirrors. I utilized the mounting holes for the accessory wind wings to attach the custom made mirror mounts..

Re: 36 passenger side hinge pin mirror
I've got hinge pin mirrors on both sides & have no trouble seeing out of them both. About a year ago I put a convex head on the passenger side & really like it. Both mirrors have a gently curved arm and came with all the bits when I purchased the project. Quite possibly they're not '36, but they work & (to me) look great.
