1957-1959 Ranchero/ Wagon fuel sending unit interest?
I have been debating making a few 1957-1959 Ranchero/Wagon/Sedan Delivery fuel sending units. I have made about 100 float arms based off a non-working original sending unit. I also made a few whole sending units. I'm wondering if there is any interest in buying just the float arms (with detailed instructions) or if there is any interest in a small run of the whole sending units anyway. Most places will not sell me bulk sending units unless I am a dealer of course. Thanks.

Re: 1957-1959 Ranchero/ Wagon fuel sending unit interest?
I had a difficult time finding a new replacement last year when i finally got it i parted with 100 dollars so in the sake of cost and as rare as a working one is to find i would think you have a good product advertise and they will buy
ps where were you about a year ago...... |

Re: 1957-1959 Ranchero/ Wagon fuel sending unit interest?
There was quite a bit of work into these. Even though you would think it would be easy to make, I had to find the right sending units with the right measurements and then make the float arms based off an original. Here are some pics of the sending unit as well as the float arms themselves. So far everything seems to work fine, the only last piece of the puzzle is the new sending unit does not have the locating tab underneath like original to go into the slot on the tank. I am not sure if this will make a difference because there really is only one way to put the sending unit in. I had the float arms zinc plated. Original sending unit on top, new one on the bottom.

Since these are not available anywhere, I can't imagine these not being a very popular item. I personally have two wagons and a Ranchero.

I'm interested in buying one. Depending on the price, I might just buy two.

P-fear,
I would like to obtain a sender of original type for my '57 T-bird. The Ford number is different from the Station Wagon, in the Ford parts book, not sure if it is the float-arm or what. I have a "NEW" one in now, but it is not accurate. Could your unit work on the Bird?? Milt K from Pa |

If I sent you a inoperative sending unit for a 55/56 Ford wagon/sedan delivery gas tank, could you reproduce it with the actuator arm and travel extents exactly as original?
OOps, sounds like some people are pushing you to start your own small business. |

You have to have the correct OMS on the sender to work with the gauge.
