Well guys it has been a long haul, but thought I would update things abit as my PM box is too full of peple wanting an update to update everyone individually.

I returned home late last night from the rehab where Jessica is at. She has made remarkable gains and is no longer using a wheel chair at all. Her arm is showing encouraging signs with about 80% use. Her hand is coming back to usefulness, but still is not able to write with it or eat with it. Her speach is still slow as she really fights for the words to say and to get them out, but is improving slowly. It is quite remarkable she has recovered this much in this short of a time. I want to Thank all of you for your continued prayers and support. This has been a real nightmare as a parent and not likely much fun on her end either. The local paper did an article on Jessica this week that I have provided the link to below. I also have some pic's I will be adding to this thread when I unpack my camera. Thanks again Rod

This is great news, I completly understand what you are going through as my infant son was born with brain cancer and the hospital here gave him up for dead. JH in Baltimore did not and after two major surgeries and extended treatment he will celebrate his 29th birthday in March. Point is hang in there.

I feel for you Rod and Pam.We had a grand daughter pass on at 11 yrs old from inoperatable brain cancer. Were praying for all of you ,glad shes on the mend,takes time and its hard on everyone. ken + Peg isidor ct.

Thanks Rod for updating us. I admit to needing the reminder to continue praying for you guys. I hope He continues to bless you all with equally speedy recovery of mobility over the next few months, and hopefully a complete recovery.

I finnally got things unpacked this evening. I have had alot to do this time home. Here are some of the pic's after anout 12 days post op when they had taken Jessica off of the ventelator to the first few days at the Madonna Rehab center. needless to say her condition now is much better than anything you see here, but not as bad as it was the first 2 weeks of this ordeal. She is a real fighter and works hard for the theropists. For the first time in her life she has had to dig deap for strength and courage and with God's help she has had both in abundance. I was informed yesterday that the Omaha World Herald is going to do a story on her and will be visitting the Rehab center this coming Wednesday for an interview and to follow her around from one theropy to another most of the day. I will be finishing up some things here on Tuesday as planned and should be there when they are. Rod

Keep strong. My brother had spinal meningitis and 3 tumors in his brain. That was 15 years ago and he is now a psychologist with a masters degree

Great news yesterday. Jessica will be coming home this Saturday. She will still be doing alot of theropry locally and only going to school half a day for awhile. I am heading back to Lincoln this afternoon to spend the remainder of the wek and bring her home. Thanks Again for the continued prayer and Support. Rod
