Default 48 Ford and Merc column

Are the steering column on a 48 Ford and Mercury the same length? Thanks for any replies.

No, the mercury is about 3 inches longer to allow for the longer wheel base. Bill large

Thanks. I know the frame is 4 in. longer on the Merc but didn't know if it was in front of the steering box.
