Need some help with 1930 Model A Radiator
I am in the market for a good quality aftermarket radiator that will fit a 1930 Model A. All I have found so far are radiators that are the right dimensions, but have the wrong tube fittings. I need it to fit exactly like stock but I want a modern style radiator. I found a few exact OEM replacements for around $585-$700 and I would prefer to not pay that much if possible.
Also, aluminum or copper? Any help from the experts would be great! |

Berg's radiator. The web site is out of date but give them a call. Also do a search and you will see nothing but good things to be said about them.

You are going to get what you pay for. You might find one cheaper by taking your existing radiator to a local shop and having them re-core it.

Take your existing radiator to Northwest Radiator in Spokane, 4715 E. Trent. 509-533-9072
They can recore it with a core made in Canada and it will be as good as it was when new. The Canadian cores are less expensive and every bit as good. I'm speaking from experience. e-mail me if you want to discuss further: [email protected] or call 509-928-0188

Re: Need some help with 1930 Model A Radiator
Here in Southern California there is a radiator shop that speaks Model A. A number of us have taken a stock 30-31 radiator over to them and they put a four row core it for about $450. Overheating problems are then a thing of the past. Temperature sits right on the 160 thermostat mark regardless of the ambient temperature. There should be other shops in other cities that can do the same thing. Be careful, those that don't speak Model A are liable to leave the baffle out.
