Default speedo conversion for electronic T-5 trans

I have a '93 T-5 out of an S-10 in my '36 coupe, and it has the electronic speedo. Is there a conversion for changing this to a manual sender for the speedo cable? I also have aftermarket gauges and speedo. Thanks!

Yes there are, but they are very expensive.

Update: well looks like there might be some cheaper options now. Dakota digital has a converter that might work. Give them a call.

Did your new trans have a pulsing unit driven by a worm gear, in place of the mechanical cable drive? Some of those simply unplug and can be replaced by a mechanical drive. Others can't, but can be retrofitted. Here's how: http://www.inliners.org/Jack/T5tech.html

If you already have aftermarket gauges and speedo wouldn't it be easy and cheaper just to swap out the speedo for an electric one?

Sorry I missed you were wanting a converter to a cable in the original post! The coverters are in the same price range or less than a new speedometer. Cable X is one brand.
