33 finally done
Well ,after 2-1/2 to 3 months, our 33 is done.
Man what a lot of work. Completely stripped ,repainted and reassembled. refitted the old insides as they were really nice. Spent the last week fitting the windows and channels, breaking a window in the process,,no problems to get a new one cut at the local glass Co. Just have to put the stripe on and paint the wheels. The 33 was a one owner car until 1984, the fixed up in 85,then not toutched until I took it apart to repaint it. It is in VERY good shape with only two super small rust spots where the back of the body meets the rear floor inside,I derusted it and sealed it up,at that time my eldest son arrived,I told him I had noted it in the log book so he could fix it in 20 yrs when he gets the 33,His reply was,Can,t you fix it now. I told him by the time he gets the 33 it will be worn out from all the use wife Carol and I will get from it. I,m picking wife Carol up from the airport this arfo in it,a nice surprise for her. then out for dinner down the waterfront. Lawrie |

What a nice job! Of course, I like the paint job. What is the colour called. Merlot has a 1948 Mercury Maroon (Monsoon Maroon). Byron.

Re: 33 finally done
Elwood the dragster sure is a lot of fun,it will be even better this year as we have just redone our strip in concrete plus new timing gear and new 130 kva generator, but the 33 is a great car to travel in.
Danney ,keep in touch, Ron, all I did to the mechanicals was fit another water pump, strip ,clean, debur and refit the springs, weld up the front fender and headlight stays, clean and touch up the paint on the chassis and fit an optima battery,6v of corse. the eng is the original and runs as sweet as, I have a 36 lb eng as a spare for it and the 34. Byron, the colour is close to the old colour and close to coach maroon, the painter just made it up from a colour chip that matched the old colour onthe car. Lawrie |

Re: 33 finally done
Super nice job there Lawrie. I love the 33-34 Fords. I think the front end of my 35 pickup looks a lot like the 34 passenger car.
