Curious what this thing is
This was in the wire loom of a 32 Ford Fordor. I didn't pull it off the car but got it from a friend. Just wondering what it is. It looks like a wire junction of sorts.

Re: Curious what this thing is
Thanks, yeah I got it apart and figured it was the switch at the end of the column. Learn something new every day!

Look at that beautifully stylish "&" sign in the parts illustration.

It is commonly called a "Headlight Bail".

Re: Curious what this thing is
Actually the "bail" is the "U"-shaped metal spring wire used to retain the switch to the bottom of the steering column. It is seen in the above diagram, "doing it's job" holding the switch to the steering column (although it is not labeled in the illustration).

comeon Mart and Pete... Is there more to know, regarding that stylish & sign? I've not seen that previously... Is it an 'across the pond' thing?
