Mac's lever shocks;anybody try them?
I'm in the market for some front shocks for my 34 but don't have any cores to rebuild. Just wondering if anyone has used the reproduction original styled lever shocks mac's sells? Any idea where they're made?

Re: Mac's lever shocks;anybody try them?
I put them on my 33 and they fit well. I think is a good reproduction. They are sealed and need no lubrication. Can't tell if they will work well because my project is still months from being a driver. Have no clue where they are made. I searched for a while before buying and found no other option so I went for MAC's. A rebuild was not possible as I only had one core and the cost was much higher anyways. Good luck. Manuel

If MAC's is selling repro's made by M&S, I had very poor results with the four I bought from M&S some years ago. They were junk!! They began leaking soon after installing and all failed early. The cores were not even rebuildable. Threw them in the scrap pile. I have had Bill Wzorek rebuild three sets for my cars and they are working great. Going cheap is not always good. Sometimes you have to be burned to learn.

Contact Bill Wzorek, he'll take great care of you, and should have the cores you need.

S.,
I'm with Ray...Bill W is THE source.....we did a '36 awhile back and ended up going to Bill after a huge fight with one of the big guys....finally got our $$$ back and spent them more wisely with Bill. Alice and I visited Bill a few years back and his stash of core shocks is jaw dropping.....his shop is HEAVY DUTY.....lest we forget all is Made in USA. Charlie ny |

I am not trying to " DRUM UP BUSINESS " just trying to show some of the problems that they had.
100_1395.jpg 100_1396.jpg 100_1397.jpg I would like to say thank everyone for the kind words, for me it's a " LABOR of LOVE " & because of that some times I stumble and spend way to much time on a shock where I should say NOT RE BUILDABLE I am proud of what I put out there as the final product!!! I was taught by my Mentor LOUIS TRINQUE /either do it correct or don't do it at all. |

I will also attest to the quality of Bill's work, he did a set of shocks for me for our '39 LZ. They made a difference of night & day in the ride and drivability of the Zephyr.

I agree. Bill's work is 1st class. He rebuilt the shocks for my '42 Panel and I couldn't be more pleased.

I too agree. I replaced the very tired shocks on my 46 with Bill's rebuilt models and man-o-man, what a difference it made. Liike others have already mentioned, you won't go wrong.
