Are you asking what a grub screw is?

Re: The Flathead oil modification thread...
A 7/16 tap fits through the horazontal plug on the oil pump boss on the back of the block. It goes into the oil passage to the center of the block. This is where the grub screw goes. Run the tap in an inch or so, install a 1/2" 7/16 -14 set screw. simple, easy.

"O ring'd plug"
That I haven't seen. Not sure I see the reasoning behind it when a simple set screw will accomplish the same thing. Can you post a photo and some information? |

Re: The Flathead oil modification thread...
The o ringed plug doesn't need and tap or drill just a slight press fit fit.You can tap and thread the end of the plug for a future removal.Works very well.I have done a couple and they are still out there cruising away. The plug has a rim on it to limit the installation depth.

Re: The Flathead oil modification thread...
I bought one of those O ring plugs from Bryon Buckley years ago, nice little rig, you don't have drill and tap the block, I think I got his tel no. from the barn. I don't have now. I think it was 35 bucks at the time. Walt
