1937 and up engine mount quality
Who makes a decent front engine mount for the 37-48 engines? I purchased some in the past that collapsed prematurely (guess they didn't have enough steel reinforcement) and the rubber cracked severely. Looking through the vendors, price points and photos vary. The Drake ones seem to have additional internal metal but they are out of stock. A lot of times the retailers don't state who makes their parts either (D.C, Drake, Vintique, etc.).
No Ford script=no problem. I'm just looking for something that will not crush under engine (and trans weight, in this case a 1939) within a couple of years. I ordered one each of the larger and smaller replacement donuts from NAPA to dissect and see if they look to be any good. I can reuse my OEM Ford HDW if they look ok. Any thoughts/recommendations? |

I used Bob Drake's, but I bet you get endorsements of 2 or 3 others, too.

Re: 1937 and up engine mount quality
See if Dick Spadaro has the motor mounts in stock. He may still be out of commision as a post couple weeks said he had some health issues. A few years ago I was lucky to buy some Drake stuff from him that Bob Drake himself was out of stock. Mayby some other vendors other than the big ones like Mac's that will help. Also run a wanted ad on Fordbarn and Early V8 swap this is how I obtained the outta stock floorboard seals when I did my 37.
