well I got my pickup back on the road, I think the old Beater is happy! I broke a thrust washerin the 36 trans, the one that holds second gear into the syncro. then the broken pieace got tangled up into the cluster gear, and chipped a tooth. a month ago I bought a 39 trans. a friend said I should take it apart to see if there is something on the bottom that is not to be in there. their was nothing on the bottom. i ordered some parts from Mac Vanpelt. what I got was new syncro rings and thrust washers also some new snap rings. today I went into the shop, assembled the trans, and with the help of a friend we got my pickup on the road. tomorrow I want to check everything over, and adjust the clutch , and install the floorboard. I am happy the way everything turned out. after a long time I have learned to take my time and not fight anything
