1951 ford id vin code
I recently became the owner of 2 1951 ford victorias. Both are original but are confusing with their ID numbers. The first one is as follows-B1NR-120868 and stamped in the cowel is NR either a 0 or and O then A1C2205 . The second one is a follows-B1FB133569 and has no stampings in the cowel but these numbers are also on the tag 60FGAA25F5332. I am not familure with this tag but appears to be done at FORD I am sure.I do not know when the first Tags were used.Any help would be much appericated. Thanks sp1ke.

Re: 1951 ford id vin code
Spike, The B is V8, 1 is for '51, NR is assembled at Norfolk VA and rest is number of vehicle assembled at that plant starting at 100,000.
There was an BF plant(Buffalo NY) but no FB. Cowl numbers were phased out in May '51. The Tag shows, 60 = Victoria FG = Greenbrier over Sea Island Green AA = Green Bedford Cord fabric 25F = Assembled on June 25, 1951 5,352 car built that day. Since June 25th was a Monday, that is why the cowl code is screwed up since every one had a hangover after a rough weekend. Don H |
