1935 Barn Find

[56 Fairlane]

I thought you guys with the early v8s would like to see these pics of a 35 3 window rumble seat coupe that I saw yesterday. I've known about this car for 30 years or more. It was last used in 1952 and has been sitting in a shed built over the ocean. The owner would never sell it and since his death his family won't sell it either, they say they are going to have it restored.

Just what JM has been looking for but looks like some rather damp storage I bet the underneath is soft.

Thanks for posting the pictures. That's the kind of car I would have loved to have found many years ago before the salt air did it's damage. Maybe if it had been better kept it would have made a nice driver. Now it looks to be a major restoration project.

Right on 37 Coupe! I went right to that post as soon as I tuned in here. I was drooling when I saw it was a 3W but as I looked closely at those pictures I could see how all the time in that type of storage has taken its toll on a nice old Ford.

there was a 31 chev coupe that i first saw in my neighborhood abot 25 years ago ,same story not for sale were going to restore it,well its just a rusted pile of scrap now, dam shame

People loose interest in these kind of projects real fast when it starts getting into their pocketbook. Hopefully someone will do something with it and not put it back in that storage.

It was sitting in a shed built over salt water for sixty years along with a 69 Falcon and both cars are very rusty. IT's a damm shame that the old guy wouldn't sell it when it was in better shape. The shed was falling down and the family was afraid it would fall into the ocean. It breaks my heart, and I'm sure a lot of old car lovers, to see this happen.

Wow, what a shame it has gotten that bad. On the other hand, I've seen far worse. I would buy it in a heartbeat if I had the money.

Richard Crow is right. Keep after it if you really want it. When they find out it will cost both arms and legs to fix it, they will let it go. Sentiment will be overcome by a good dose of reality. It looks like at least $50,000 if there is no labor cost involved. If a restoration shop did the work, it would be over $100k. That car is a real mess. Having done one in the same condition, I sure wouldn't want to be facing that challenge.

Before I found my 39 had been eyeing a 56 F1 on the side of a barn. The owner won't sell and plan's on keeping it.

Been parked next to that barn since early 80's. This is a complete truck sitting and rusting away. Every time I'm up that way the tree's growing through the bed are a little taller and I have a gut pain for the next few miles
