'40 cowl vent
I'm putting together my 40 cowl vent mechanism and I need to know the sequence of the washers on the spring loaded bolt that passes through the lever arm and the bracket. There's three washers that are about 1 inch in diameter. One has friction ridges on one side of it, then there is a thin brass washer and last is a regular flat washer.

Bob Drake sells the hardware kit for $25 and says it contains a "killer 6 page instruction booklet" may be worth it to have new hardware plus detailed instructions

Re: '40 cowl vent
Bob Drake team, thank you for the link to the discussion. I talked with Cole yesterday and ordered the hardware kit with instruction sheet. Now with the instruction sheet I can get a jump start on the installation before the kit arrives. Thanks again. Tom

Re: '40 cowl vent
That may be part of the problem I'm having. I don't know who's gasket it may be as it was in the car when I got it.
