Working on the wood insert for the bed.
36 had a steel bed, but mine is so dented, warped, and rusted that I've decided to cover it in wood. I don't want to cut it out and replace it. So I painted the bed steel floor top and bottom with epoxy paint to seal it. I replaced all the hardwood planks under the bed floor. On top I am using a piec of 3/4" plywood. Iam using a circular saw and router to make grooved in the plywood to accept bedwood meatal strips. Got a couple of the strips fitted into place earlier today. After all the cutting is done I will do several coats of sealer, stain, and urethane to make the plywood look as much like oak as possible. image.jpg |
