Working on the wood insert for the bed.

36 had a steel bed, but mine is so dented, warped, and rusted that I've decided to cover it in wood. I don't want to cut it out and replace it.

So I painted the bed steel floor top and bottom with epoxy paint to seal it.
I replaced all the hardwood planks under the bed floor.

On top I am using a piec of 3/4" plywood.
Iam using a circular saw and router to make grooved in the plywood to accept bedwood meatal strips.

Got a couple of the strips fitted into place earlier today.
After all the cutting is done I will do several coats of sealer, stain, and urethane to make the plywood look as much like oak as possible.

Finished fitting the bed strips.
Got the wood sanded, sealed, and stained.
Will still apply 3 coats urethane before I'm done.
