Default Engine No.

How can I change the engine numbers without grinding the old numbers off ? Can they be filled in some way ? Thanks John.

Depends on how deep the stamp is and the digits new vs. old. You might get lucky and be able to tap away using a dull center punch to "fill in" the old numbers and restamp over them. It's certainly worth a try.

I don't care to see a smooth ground area, so even if you have to do some grinding, try to roughen the area again to make it look more like virgin cast iron.
