Default New wiper arm for 36

Went for a drive on a very windy day and my wiper arm came off is gone. Ordered a new unit for my 36 and not sure how it fits? Or is this the correct one for my car? Thanks in advance

Someone put a collar on yours to accept the later style or you have a later replacement motor.

Adapter, collar came off, now what is the trick to instal the wiper arm. Looks like you have to put pin in the hole then bend it? Does that half moon part go against the shaft? Sorry , don't want to break the new made in China part!

You do not bend anything. The existing 90 degree bent end of the arm inserts into the existing hole in the end of the wiper motor shaft. Then you slide the cover upward compressing the spring inside the cover and slip the half round part inside the cover over the recess immediately behind the hole in the wiper motor shaft. The end result assumes that you have a wiper blade that is compatible with the end of your new wiper arm.

I never run the wiper blade on mine after losing one on a fairly high speed trip. It acted like a sail and just flew off somewhere on the road. I keep a wiper blade in the glove box in case I need it and put a small rubber cap I picked up off of something else to keep the arm tip from scratching the glass.
Oh, and Rain-X on the windshield as well.

Just a note here, on many reproduction arms the collar is not stamped exactly right or gets compressed slightly and the inner notch ends up too small. On installation carefully check that the collar fully seats on the shaft and is not pushed in the middle. You may have to file the collar for perfect fit.

The large ny-lock retaining nut for the motor is incorrect and taking up a lot of room but if you can get the new arm on properly you should be good.

Collar seems to be nice and tight, getting the spring compressed and not slipping and scratching the paint made me nervous! Its on and back to normal again, thanks for the help!
