Frame Weight
Can anybody provide me with the total weight of a bare Model A frame? I have an offer to save one from the scrap heap but will have to lift and load it myself. Thanks!

Re: Frame Weight
Gosh, it can't be more than 100 lbs.
I have two frames that I used a hoist to bring up to the top of the barn, and moved them from the hoistway to where they are stacked - by myself. One of these has the running board brackets attached, which complicates getting past all the rest of the um, stuff up there. Two full grown adults should have NO problem. You yourself only slightly more. Joe K

Re: Frame Weight
I carried mine from the house down to the barn after a good breakfast.

Re: Frame Weight
Standing in the middle of the frame, find the balance point, grab the rails, stand up, when you place it on truck bed by rotating you wrists, set other end down, step out and pick up, slide into truck bed. Sit down and have a cold or warm drink. No help needed :-)

Re: Frame Weight
Thanks for the responses! Over the years I have Picked up and carried or moved every single part of the Model A Ford except the frame and had no idea of its weight, hence the question.

I'm guessing couple/three hundred lbs. If you have a trailer or long bed (8ft) truck, you can get one end into bed easy enough. Then just pick up other end and push ! I've done it this way (8ft truck bed) by myself. Put weight belt or some sort of support around gut...if old guy ! If you can muster wife and/or some guy to help, piece of cake, eh !
