Re: My new 1939 Sedan Delivery!
Thank you, Pete... I am keeping my eyes open for a door... 4dr I thought might work also...
Mine is actually really nice other then the bottom... so probably better off patchin git up anyways....at least it should be cheaper! I am pretty sure the extra wiring is for a Voltage regulator... I realized that the generator was wrong to '39 also.. and looks like someone changed the wiring a bit up at that end also... Seems the frequent stop delivery vehicles got the upgraded generator with regulator...

Re: My new 1939 Sedan Delivery!
FINALLY!! I didn't expect at the beginning that it would have been so hard to find a 2nd seat!
Thanks to a great guy who contacted me about it... took a lot of measurements to be sure it was right and then delivered this from North Carolina to my door! I still need mounting parts for the pass seat and possibly for the drivers seat also as mine are pretty mangled from repairs... won't be terrible to make if I have to for the pass side as I believe they don't adjust... Obviously the upholstery is not correct... but its all the same framework and everything.... this one is a little more worn at the pivots and it leans back too far.. but thats an easy fix with some weld...(mine was only used for 9 years so its pretty nice)

Thanks!
This was just all blue when I started. Well, blue and rust and red primer.

Re: My new 1939 Sedan Delivery!
Zach,
Man that looks great! Are you going to bring it to ROG II? You could tow a racer. Keep V-8ing and 4-banging!

I am hoping that I will have this on the road by then but I don't think a trip that far will be good right off the bat. I'm hoping I can drive it to Hershey at least, the following week. I have spots CJ 80-83

Re: My new 1939 Sedan Delivery!
Yeah, nice to read through this one again.
Zach, what's the current status on the delivery? Such a neat vehicle. The originality in it's found state is outstanding. Mart. |

Re: My new 1939 Sedan Delivery!
There is a Ford Dealer in Sunbury, Pa which I'm sure is probably where the car came from. Several years ago I found a Ford Emergency Bulb and Fuse kit at a swap meet and inside was the original receipt from Sunbury Motor CO. dated 7-25-1939. The phone number on the receipt was 270. I did some research and found out they are still in business so I sent them a picture of the kit, receipt and my 1939 Std. Coupe. The owner and General Manager sent me back a very nice letter and said that the mechanic who had initialed the receipt had worked for the dealership for 40 plus years and recently had passed away. You may want to send them a picture of your 39.

Re: My new 1939 Sedan Delivery!
Just saw this was brought back up.... unfortunately no good updates.... I fixed the rust on the bottom of the drivers door... then started on replacing the rain gutter that had rotted off... made a big list of all of the small things needed to make it go.... then got side tracked by other projects.
Just doesn't seem to be enough hours in the day or dollars in the bank. We've been remodeling our house and I've been playing with antique race cars. Still looking for seat mounts/tracks for either side. I have 2 seats but only the original drivers mounting hardware and tracks. This is still one of my favorite vehicles I own so it will get back on the road one of these days! I'll look into that dealer PlanoJC, thanks!

Zach I still remember you asking me about this car before you bought it. I'm sure glad you did buy it (And I bet you are as well). It is an amazing find!
