Default Where can I find Oil Bath filter screen mesh?

Not specifically for these cars, is for a tractor I'm working on...and need quite a bit more than an Early V8 would have.

The local supplies want me to buy a new complete filter, I just want to pry things apart, and put in new mesh.

Thanks

Grocery stores sell it to scrub pots and pans with.

I believe the mesh is similar to Chore Boy which is for scrubbing pots and pans. Look carefully at the package to be sure it is copper and not copper colored plastic or other material. For a pure restoration it is not the same, but for function with oil film added for an air filter will work.

I think Joblot in Long Island has the pick up screens. They have an amazing amount of parts.

I have seen it at Tractor Supply for tractors, but it was not copper.

Nope. Same stuff, or at least it used to be.

Buy a Chore Boy copper pot scrubber. Take it apart by unwinding the
copper scrubber. It will be longer than wide when unwound. Feed one
end into the place where the old mesh was. It took two pieces to fill
the space. Only cost $1! I did this on my '36 and it worked just fine.

o.k guys ,I will have to find some copper pan scourers as advised or I assume stainless steel will be as good , does the mesh go in the oil trough with the oil ,I,m sure it sounds a dumb question but I have never used an oil bath filter before ,thanks Jim.

I used the nylon stuff in a tractor air cleaner but since I have found that they sell copper mesh for pest control. Next time I will probably use that.
