41 Super Deluxe what's correct gas cap?
Here is a picture of my current cap, looks like an aftermarket generic cap, but hay what do I know. Was a chrome or locking cap a Ford accessory?

Any vented cap that fits will work, the original was probably chrome or stainless. A locking cap from Ford would probably have been an accessory like it was in 40.

That looks exactly like the gas gap on our '47 tudor. I often thought no body sees it so it was probably just a plain gas cap and whey would not have wasted the cost of a chrome cap inside the fender.

Re: 41 Super Deluxe what's correct gas cap?
FoMoCo used plain Jane fuel caps back in the day for recessed fuel spouts. Later ones had a sort of wing gripper protruding out to make it easier to turn it inside the recessed housing. Just make sure it is vented where applicable. Stainless covered and/or locking type caps were available for the earlier models with non-recessed filler spouts. Locking caps were an accessory but there were also aftermarket ones for sale.
