Default 41 ignition light, what makes it work.

According to the V8 Album, I have an ignition hole light, I do see a small round hole in the dash, looks like I can see a bulb, my question it how it gets turned on?. Is it supposed to come on with dash lights, does it have a separate switch.?
Lots of wires in the way, so I can't see the rest of it, or reach my hand up there.

It goes to the headlight switch, looks like it is hooked in with the parking lights.

The headlights will come on without turning on the ignition on all the older Ford products. When you get in at night, you just turn the park lights on and that light should shine. The bulb may just need to be replaced if is doesn't. If that isn't enough, the dome light should help.

There are lights on each door pillar, they don't work either, looks like a little I need to spend some time tracing out everything. Thanks

If it has he OEM cloth & resin covered wiring then it may need a new harness. You don't see too many old cars from the 40s & early 50s that aren't in need of new wiring.

It runs with the parklight switch pulled on and will light up the keyhole and goes out when the headlights are pulled on. my 48 NZ assembled car carries the US 41 dash.

Graeme New Z. is correct about key light operation. If your '41 like a stock '47 the courtesy lights should be wired direct from the circuit breaker. Both lights wired in series, first to the fixture thumb switch/light fixture on pillar next to passenger seat, then to driver's side.

Is the switch on the P.S. pillar light turned on?
