Default Rear shock removal 1935 Ford

Having a problem removing the rear shock of my 1935 Ford. I Got the two bolts that go thru the frame out, removed the shock arm clamping bolt but am now having trouble getting the arm off. I don't want to snap the arm-any tricks to the trade on this removal?

Try spreading the slot that closes up with the clamping bolt. After removing that bolt, drive a wedge [screwdriver etc] into the slot and that should loosen the arm on the square, allowing you to simply pull it off.

There was a puller made for the ones pressed on. It was 2 wedges that went in between the arm and body which pushed them off. The split type like you have are not much of a problem removeing. G.M.
