Re: Help with pricing a 1928 Phaeton for sale
Yes, what Phil said.
If you stick it on ebay, just wiping off the dust and wiping it down with a light spray of WD-40 will add $2,000 to the price. I would get it running, which may take only minutes to a few hours. |

As is, I'd say $6,5K here in California. Running, probably $8,5K.

Re: Help with pricing a 1928 Phaeton for sale
You guys and gals are killing me! I just got to the point after 20 years of storage to being able to let her go. If I get her running, which I agree wont take much, when last she ran no worries except for some fuel mix issues, I had put a replacement Zenith 1 on, I believe the existing carb was a later model. I just know if I crank her up, I will not let her go and correspondingly cause a divorce (have 7 or so project cars underway). Thanks for all the advice, a cleanup and startup would likely improve the price, I just was pushed for time. I think I will go that route. Thanks to all,
Rogers |

Roger,
tough crowd, but I think you pretty much got your answer. Looks like a nice car and would sell very quickly I'm sure. |

Rogers, make the decision that is right for you, but if you decide to sell give me a call. Thanks.

I paid $4000 2 years ago, for a cobbled together mess, I had a chassis I restored and just needed the body.

I tend to agree to the $,4000-$5,000 price range for a car that needs a total restoration.

Re: Help with pricing a 1928 Phaeton for sale
Are you Kidding ?? $4,000-$5,000 ??, The top bows & Radiator shell are worth $1,500 alone in that condition.. I would buy all I could find in that condition just by the pictures shown & no ?? asked.. P.S. That shell may have been put on later as it does not match the other mid 1928 items shown, Fenders, hood, firewall, etc...

Re: Help with pricing a 1928 Phaeton for sale
Our 1930 Phaeton was a pile of parts when we bought it. Being from the Mohave Desert, it had no rust out. The only things together were the starters and generators. The best thing was almost of of the new parts needed were already purchased. I had to buy new top irons, windshield frame, upholstery, door skins and a new rear tub panel. I paid $9,000 for our project about three years ago. It is now together and pictured in my avatar photo. There are more 1928-1929 phaetons than 1930 standard phaetons which can make a price difference. Being an older restoration, the 1928 should have had more of the original Ford parts used in its restoration. Having a rebuilt engine and the 1928 was running when it was parked, I think that $10,000 for this 1928 Phaeton would be more in line with its value. After all, it is a phaeton and not just another tudor. We also own a couple of running tudors.
