Beavertail fender’s
I have a early 28 roadster that I’m not sure of its production date. It does have left hand E- break and other things that tell me it’s at least a mid production. My question is, is it supposed to have Beavertail rear fenders?

Re: Beavertail fender’s
The bottom of the rear fender is rounded like a beaver's tail. I doubt you need a photo to imagine what that would look like.

Re: Beavertail fender’s
The rear end of the Beavertail are narrowed down for 7-8" (guessing) from the end. Picture and some info in this old thread:
- https://www.fordbarn.com/forum/showthread.php?t=318524 Here's one of Gary Karr's pictures, showing where the tail end of the fender (extended past the body) is narrowed down. - Last edited by Randy in ca; 05-25-2023 at 04:08 PM. Reason: Added picture |

Re: Beavertail fender’s
Has anyone have information about whether or not all left hand emergency brake vehicles should or should not have Beavertail rear fenders?

Re: Beavertail fender’s
Sorry, I got in too big of a hurry. I see now that you do not know what your car's production date is.

Re: Beavertail fender’s
Quick answer: no. I have an April 1928 and it doesn't have beaver tail fenders as they were changed in March 1928.

Re: Beavertail fender’s
Gary was that because those bodies had no sheet metal up against the fender on the rear downward slope ? Mike Brauch over on the MAFCA site has his early 28 yellow RPU for sale and it has the beaver-tail fenders. Those early "A"s sure had a lot of odd-ball features.

Re: Beavertail fender’s
I finally got a chance to check my fenders on my ‘28 Roadster Pickup.
They don’t have the notched out area so they are not the Beavertail style. My gas tank is not stamped with a date unfortunately. My engine is dated November ’28 but who knows if it’s really the original. I’ve not checked the frame number yet. I do have an early front fender and a later front fender. I only know the history on my truck from 1960 on though.
