Default 53 merc v/8 flathead water pumps

i bougnt a complete rebuilt 53 merc long block, couldnt use the water pumps on the engine replacement in my 34, when i removed the rebuilt pumps on the merc engine i noticed there were no holes drilled or threads in the bottom of the castings to bolt them to the frame, what gives, what do these pumps fit? i have never seen pumps like these, HELP

there should be two threaded holes below the hose on that angle in the bottom right picture...

no holes or mounting foot, just round on the bottom of the pump, they look like the 49 pump pictured except no threaded holes or foot mount on them, just cast round where the mounts usually are or should be, been told the are for a 53 p/u, true?

just checked the pumps and they have the wide belt pulleys (3/4")

That's a pretty wide belt for a car. 5/8" is more common I think.

Very possible they are '53 truck pumps, which are basically the same as '49 Ford car pumps. Since the '53 truck used a new front center mount, the mount holes in the pump feet may have not been drilled/taped.

V/8 Bob, i think your right, nothing on the pumps to bolt them to the frame, just smooth and round on the bottoms of the pumps, thanks guys for the help and info
