Clank, Clank, Clank,,,
So I'm driving into town like every other nice morning now on a city street and motoring along about 30 mph when the ole girl lets out about 20-30 very loud high-pitched 'CLANKS'.. I shove on the clutch pedal, no change, stick the lever in neutral, no change, step on the brake and pull over, no change.. Then the noise stops as quickly as it came.. Finished the trip to the diner and then back home with no problems.. The starter, generator, water pump, front pulley came off and back on without finding anything.. Nothing appears to be out of place inside the bell.. I even removed the front wheels to check for a loose grease slinger or some such thing as I couldn't pin-point the noise when it was happening.. Except for some valve lash noise[ non-adjustable] the engine is quiet whatever I try to do with it.. I guess its another one of life's little wonderment's, but, I'll keep looking..

Re: Clank, Clank, Clank,,,
Maybe something got caught in your spoke and was banging around, until it threw it's self free from the car?
Any new scratches on your wheels, under the fender, frame/brake components, etc?
