The various 1930 & 1931 "AA" trucks have cowl bands made of plain steel which are either black or body color.

If you need help with getting the roof together, you may try a company called "Classic Wood products" in Greensboro, N.C. They sell new wood parts for the truck. I believe they also have the hardware too. Do you have the doors? If not, seat belts may be in order. A great old work truck! I think it's an 82-B model but we'll wait to see if a more clever person chimes in on that.

Them rusty split rims have me nervous, I think I would back up some and shoot them from orbit, it's the only way to be sure

No offense intended, as any Model A is a good Model A, but I suspect this truck is a "Frankenstein". It appears to have been put together from parts from many different vehicles, and as for its model year- pick anyone that you like. I guess if you wanted to get technical, the serial number stamped on the frame (you'd need to remove the cab to see it) would give you the year of the foundation upon which rest of the car is built.

I found the number it is Canadian. you were right CA was the code. Got her running today too. what a machine not safe to drive by any stretch of the imagination.

As someone above mentioned, the engine number will give you an idea of at least when the engine was manufactured. That may or may not correspond to when the truck was manufactured as "back in the day" it was common to just swap engines when needed rather than rebuild the one in the vehicle. But if the engine number matches the frame number then you have a "numbers matching" vehicle!

Here's a link to a discussion on Canadian-numbered Model A engines.
