I was there Friday. Sorry that I didn't get to see you. Only thing I bought was a $6 cheeseburger and a $5 Coke. Hope to see you in Winfield. Jim |

Re: Charlotte Swap meet?
Turned out to be a great weekend. All that forcasted rain never happened. Sold a few parts, gave some away, and bought stuff for current projects. Also made a quick run over to Dennis Carpenter's for a bag of new parts for my '48 F1 panel. Got to catch up with Tom T (Tom - you really need to stay for Saturday night, it was killer) and a few other old friends. Four days of swap meeting
and finding rusty old Ford parts. What could be better. Lee

Re: Charlotte Swap meet?
Please advise us where you found any thing other than GM stuff. We covered the infield quite well and didn't see all that much, except repop. Did get to enjoy plenty at the Titusville auction in Fl. Had a bidders # but did not wait to see all the small items. It must have been a very long day for the auctioneers with sooooo many parts to sell. Been looking for an inside fender panel for 34 pass. side for some time and I counted ten in one pile! Great "eye candy" to enjoy for sure.

Re: Charlotte Swap meet?
Bob NH, there was a pair of BE-utiful '34 inner fender panels just down the row from us. Didn't check the price cause I didn't need them. Same space I got a very repairable '36 dash for $30. I only got to walk part of the Orange field Thursday and the Redfield Saturday afternoon but I thought there was a respectable amount of old Ford parts to be found.

Re: Charlotte Swap meet?
Mornin Grandadeo, I have been to Charlotte several times in the past and never made it to the outside fields . Guess I was in the wrong place once again ! Seems like the place is bigger than Hershey now ? I really don't need that panel but I have a mint driver side hanging in my basement and thought it would be nice to have a passenger one to keep it company.

Re: Charlotte Swap meet?
Bob, I've only been to Hershey once about 35 years ago so not sure how they compare. All I remember is we walked from dawn till dark and didn't see it all. My buds said the Charlotte green field was packed out as was the red so this for sure a good year. Now if I can find a glove box door for that '36 dash I bought......

Re: Charlotte Swap meet?
It was good catching up with you Lee, and I certainly needed the rest, the drink, and the outhouse! Don't tell me about Sat night, Lee - you are making me feel real bad but I do not have a choice. That is my absolute favorite hot rod garage and a nicest bunch of guys you will ever meet hang out there ....
Yep the green field treated us pretty well this year but the Blue field still knocked it out of the park for us. |

Re: Charlotte Swap meet?
Good to see old (no pun intended) friends, again.
Found a few small pieces on my list, walked it all, dragging a wagon, in a day and a half, and found a real important piece at Carpenter's sale. Good thing that I'm over my gas and oil addiction; LOTS of temptations this year. Very little 32 stuff, as usual. Lots of expensive flathead speed parts. Can't wait 'til next year! |

Re: Charlotte Swap meet?
Hey Bill, I resemble that "old" remark. Thanks for finding the '32 fenders at Charlie's. Now to get them to Florida.
