'36 Ford Coupe Rear Shelf Wood
We are in the process of assembling a '36 Ford 5-Window Coupe. Does anyone have any pictures or diagrams of how the wood is assembled for the rear shelf/trunk area?
Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks, Dave |

Re: '36 Ford Coupe Rear Shelf Wood
Sid,
I have a rear shelf, however delaminated, that I can use for a pattern. What I am really interested in is how it and all the other wood pieces fit together to for the shelf and transition to the trunk. I'm really looking for a picture of how it's all tied together. Thanks, Dave |

Nobody sells it that I know of , so you'll have to make your own or get a used one from a junk car.

Re: '36 Ford Coupe Rear Shelf Wood
There is a curved piece of metal that the upholstery board and the shelf sit on. It's curved metal in an L shape about 1"by1". To my knowledge no one reproduces it. look closely at photos 2 and 3.

Re: '36 Ford Coupe Rear Shelf Wood
Does anyone know if there is any upholstery material or other boards between the bottom of the parcel shelf and the floor, or was it completely open to the trunk? Was the seat back the only thing that separated the passenger compartment from the trunk?
I believe there is a board that goes across the front of the trunk floor, presumably to keep items from rolling from the trunk into the passenger compartment. Thanks, Dave |
