Default re seating of needle valve?

i have read about lengthening an old needle valve and then putting it in a drill and then using it to hone out the carburetor casting where the needle valve sits. is this actually possible? when i turn the gas adjustment valve all the way in it has little or no affect. this carb does not have a needle seat that is replaceable. thanks.

I suspect your problem is not the needle valve, but jets that are the wrong size. most reproduction jets on the market are an incorrect size due to quality issues. Many originals have been molested by people pushing welding tip cleaners through them.

The jets should be flow tested to determine they are within specs. If the comp jet is larger than the cap jet it renders the GAV control useless.

Most of the time the GAV is cracked open a half to three quarters of a turn, so the seat is not a factor.

I would obtain a set of flow tested jets. It will make a big difference in Carburetor performance and give you GAV control.

I have heard of flow tested jets, I will ask Snyders about such. Kevin, areyou are asking about the natural needle seat in the casting? Thanks guys
