No problems with overheating. Got up to about 196° was the highest climbing the mountains. Of course the ambient temperature was cooler as we went higher.

I have done that many miles in one day on a road trip. We took it quite slow, stopping a lot to see things, because I knew what the total distance was going to be over the two days. I love driving Old Henry and he is very comfortable to sit and drive in. I pull the throttle out on occasion to rest and stretch my right foot and ankle for a while when it gets stiff. Of course I spend quite a bit of time outside the car taking pictures that also breaks it up. On our road trip to Mount Rushmore and Devils Tower last month I believe we averaged over 400 miles per day and were fine with it.

One original engine that's had a valve job, one complete overhaul, pistons replaced, and bearings replaced.

I'm amazed at how nice the unpaved roads are up there! If you approach a cattle guard around here, you come to a near complete stop or risk leaving an axle behind.

Is someone maintaining those charcoal kilns as an attraction? Amazing condition! Also amazing there were no snakes in there!

It is a Wyoming state historic site maintained by the state. http://wyoparks.state.wy.us/Site/Sit...aspx?siteID=29

Went thru Piedmont Wy. on my Harley back in the early 90's. Doesn't look like anything has changed. If I remember correctly there were plaques in the ground with the original owners names on them by each house, but I may be thinking of another ghost town. I have pictures somewhere but it would take all day to find them.

I'm just planning a trip on the Pacific Coast Highway (Highway 1) in November. Here's the route:

It is 1920 miles in 4 days. That's 489 miles per day. At an average 55 mph that's 8¾ hours driving per day. That is not unusual and quite comfortable for me and mine.

Wow...That is one trip I'd love to tag along with you on
2nd that on Hearst castle. When I was a kid my dad took my family up the Pacific Coast Hwy from S.Cali up to Oregon to see my uncle. And the two stops I remember most is the Hearst Castle and Pismo Beach for some claming. Have a ball!

You will have to paint "California or Bust" on Old Henry for the trip and please be careful of the desert while en-route back home thru Las Vegas.
