They are the same as far as I know. Is the sub rail area really rusty or just the outer cowl panels? Replacing the cowl panels rather that the whole cowl may be the way to go. Bob

Roadster62,the drivers side is rotted (panel and subrail section).and the firewall has been butchered badly.i bought a complete cowl from a member of this forum and before I got to do anything with it some low life scrap collector scum stole it right out of my yard while I was home!

Re: Model a cowl differences
The main difference is in the top hinge. On the coupe it's 3" down from the top of the door. On the tudor/ pickup it's 4" down. you can't put a coupe door on a tudor cowl. As far as the Fordor, I think the hinge is 3" down like the coupe but the door is shorter. This is because there's no flange on the bottom of the fordor door and no bead. the bead is part of the floor. Check that out next time you see a fordor door open.

Re: Model a cowl differences
thanks for the help everyone. as far as the police are concerned they didn't care and the local scrap yards wouldn't let me look around. New York sucks!

Re: Model a cowl differences
Also, there is a tab that sticks up on the top of the A pillar on the tudor/truck cowl that the coupe cowl does not have. The coupe cowl is specific to the coupe.
