Re: Painting and waxing
When was it painted? I used an enamel with hardener and waited about a week to sand and buff.

Re: Painting and waxing
In texas I could paint a car at the beginning of the day, and be able to start wet sanding and buffing by the end of the day. In summer. Once I'm done sanding, buffing, and polishing I rinse the car down with water. Then wait a day or so before washing with any type of soap. Then a month before waxing. The month allows all the paint to completely seal, so the wax doesn't effect the coats of paint under the top coat. Sherwin Williams actually has had a clear coat for a few years that you can sand and buff 15-30 minutes after it's sprayed. It's not something you'd want to spray if you're doing a large area at once because you're recoat time will be gone by the time you get back around to that area. But after we sand and buff that, we wash it with water to get all the compound off and it's ready to go an hour after paint.
