Default 40 Coupe gas tank mounting in a TCI frame

I am mounting a SS Bob Drake gas tank in a TCI frame and was wondering if anyone else has tackled this task. The TCI frame is boxed so there is no way to come up from underneath to install the mounting bolts as in the stock frame setup. If I mount it from the top then I will have to lift the body to service the gas tank. I believe that the SS tank will probably never need to be serviced but I am not so sure about the gas gauge sending unit. Any better ideas? All I hear from TCI is crickets....

Drill the mounting holes in the top of the rail, drill larger ones in the bottom of the rail just large enough for a socket head cap screw, put them in with a long allen wrench, paint some of those chrome pop in hole plugs to match the frame, stick them in the hole, and it will accessible; but not too noticeable.

I'd make sure I could service the sending unit thru the trunk floor.

On the repro 35/40 rails I have used some of the holes were accessible and some were not. On the ones that were blind I drilled out the holes and welded threaded bungs. I also fine that on most repro rails the top flange is wider than than stock making it difficult to remove the tank after the body is installed.
