Default Fresh air vent assembly (handle)

This can’t be that complicated but I can’t figure out how it goes back together. It was apart when I got the car. What am I missing? What holes (numbered in photos) go where? No combo of what I try seems to work! Am I missing pieces?

Yes! My issue was one of the rods was frozen when it needed to move freeley which wouldn’t let the holes line up which is what was confusing me. Thank you.

A few more photos that may also help. White stuff is Lubriplate grease.

It's important you get the levers/arms orientated correctly otherwise the vent will not close down properly. I know because I f'ed this up on the last v8 I owned and redrilled some of the holes to get it to close. On my latest car I saw the error of my ways and assembled this one correctly. I've attached an exploded pic of 41 to 48 vent. the principle is probably the same with yours
