Thumbs up Jim Brand amazing and wow

Jim came out to the shop today to stripe Lucy. the man can leave you speechless with his god given talent. he knew exactly what to do without mentioning a thing even the slightest details. being a fresh restoration somethings were still unfinished but not anymore. we are all so lucky to have him available to us as he is an expert on our A's. he even earned a Mitch's Auto t-shirt.

some things he did was
paint the good year logos
striped the body and gas tank
painted the outboard fender bolts
painted the door hinge pin tops
touched up the dash panel

Gosh, it looks like he's putting on striping tape. He's probably a good marksman. (steady)

Jim painted three original 28/29 round center bumper clamp covers I had nickel plated and give to him to paint at the French Lick MARC meet this summer. The blue inset areas are hard to paint. I didn't even want to attempt to paint them myself. He did an excellent job. I don't know how he does the painting without leaving brush marks. It's like magic. Thanks again Jim.

As per my previous post, Jim striped my Coupe. I was impressed with his knowledge, skill, and patience. He's a hell of a nice guy too. Regards, John

thanks Paul & Mike, the striping really transforms the overall appearance , its like a different car in person. all that is left to do is the front and rear top moldings which are getting refinished now and a final polish before taking her home. the dusty shop enviroment is brutal.

Yep, Jim is the best.
Jim even did a fine monogram on the car doors for Mark and Val.

Did Jim get his start with paint by numbers?

Here in Fresno, Ca, we are blessed to have a LOT of pin stripers! In the '50's, my best friend, Jim McKenna was a fabulous striper & made LOTS of BUCKS! I heard that he STILL does accent striping for new car dealers.

I know its not factory, but I cant stop thinking how good a red pinstripe would look on those wheels...maybe even two narrow ones. Sort of a Model A custom.
Not many people I would have let try that, but I believe Jim could have pulled it off.
Nice car and nice finishing touches!

Rex, I will be putting a 1/8" Washington Blue stripe on my straw wheels, to sorta' "TIE" them in with the body color.
If a person is not a purist, I think small personal touches to your car is nifty.

Yes, Jim is very talented and a wonderful individual as well. HE will be working on a car and chatting or teaching all at the same time. He is a great asset to our hobby. he touched up Smokey for me and put her name on the tool box and my initials on my doors.
