Default getting a tick to go away with oil/additive?

I have a tick in the motor... A club member also has a tick in his motor. He tore is completely apart looking for the source of the noise to no avail. Most of the old timers say "let 'er run" and that a little tick is nothing to worry about.

Still, it is very unsettling. Any body have any luck getting rid of a mystery tick using oil or additive tricks?

It is probably valve tick. No way to completely get rid of it with solid lifters. I have also heard ticking form the distributor as the cam touchs the points block, especially with a B distributor cam. Don't worry about it.
