Does anyone know what the purpose is for this V shaped bar that goes on the front bumper of a 34 Ford? Is it for towing? Just decorative? Is this a Ford OEM part or was it an aftermarket part?

It's a grille guard and was a non-Ford aftermarket accessory.

That looks like one I bought off ebay and has the wrong threads on it, will not stay tight, originals had fine threads and these repops have course threads.
