What did you do today that was flathead V8 related?

Bought online new water pumps, upper and lower radiator hoses, temp sending unit, thermostat, radiator and engine mounts and the hose clamps.

Took a friend for a ride in my 40 V8 (std) coupe.

Put a new heavy duty battery isolator in the 34, it already had one ,but it was a plastic one and inside the engine bay, so I had to lift the bonnet(hood) every time)\So now its mounted under the drivers seat out of sight and easy to work.
Packed some of my stuff in the back as Im away in it on Anzac Day.
I will be taking my drone ,so will get some nice pics along the way.

Insulated the fuel line from the pump to the carb on my '35 V8. Also plan to place the Phenolic carb spacer between intake manifold and carb for further cooling. I was on a drive last week and came upon road construction... sat waiting for 10 minutes on the 'go ahead signal' from the flag man when the engine stumbled to a stop. Vapor lock. The backup electric pump solved the issue quickly by refilling the line, but I hope to reduce the need for that in the future with these upgrades,

I finished restoration of a 1931 model A generator this morning. So today I'm starting the next one; a 1942 - 1948 2-brush generator. I'm trying to get ready for the Luray pre-war swap meet in a couple weeks. Always a good time 😀

I drove my 33 coupe for the first time in nearly 3 years. All went well. I have put new brake cylinders on the front and rebuilt the rears. A new master cylinder was fitted too.

Went to Fitchburg Early V8 show. First time in 4 years.Great first show of the season. Am always on the lookout for 39 Ford parts for my long dormant dump truck. Gotta make some progress this year. Don't need a grill but if I did there was a really nice one that appeared as new for $600. Lots better and less expensive that what I've seen lately on Ebay. At least 3 35 Ford grills. All nice. Didn't check the prices. Seems like parts price trends are up but these regional shows always yield some surprises. Didn't see Joe's Antique Auto trailer. Maybe they were at Epping? Had a list of small parts that I needed. Oh well, Uxbridge is only 50 miles from home. Will be a nice day destination. Oh one other thing, lots of empty swap spaces. Is that a trend?

Brian and GB, Yes I bought it. Sitting for at least 40 years. All original but very well used. Half of the rear fenders are missing, etc. It is a vey early truck with the B serial number in the 8,000s. I went to dig it out of the mud yesterday to prepare it to be removed from the lean to. I figured the brakes would be frozen, the steering locked, and the transmission a solid chunk of rusty gears. Happily the brake shoes had been removed, the trans shifted, the steering column was not locked, and 3 of the tires on the model A wheels actually held air. It acts like it wants to be liberated from its captivity. Will pick it up in a week or two. Fun Fun Fun!

I made this template for an oil pump so that I can fit, clearance and modify the baffle of an early oil pan with an 8BA pump.....Thanks to "Mart" here on the "Barn" for the idea!!!
