1941 rear end
Outside of the brake drums what is the difference between a 41 rear end and a 39 rear end. I have a line on one that I might want to use in my 39 coupe.

Re: 1941 rear end
If you get it, try to also get the springs. Not sure about the radius rod mounts, but the shackle mounts are 7/8" further inboard on the '41. Width and axles all same, so you could just swap out your housings for the '41 housings and be done with it.

Re: 1941 rear end
Is the drive shaft the same?? It's coming with the spring. I am hoping it is a bolt in.

Re: 1941 rear end
'39 is 112 " WB and '41 is 114 " WB. Different torque tube and driveshaft.

Re: 1941 rear end
If it is a 41 pickup rearend I believe it would be the same as a 39 minus the hubs and such. 41 car has way shorter radius rods and as mentioned the torque tube and driveshaft are longer. The radius rods do mount up in the same manner but are completely different. Attached is a picture of a 99A radius rod (41 ford) and a 68- radius rod (37-40 and 37-41 commercial). And as you mentioned Alan, the 1941 axle housings are different and I believe 1941 only. For his sake hopefully it is a pickup rear.
