Catwalk

An obsolete term for the section between the fender and the hood. On modern cars, this section does not exist at all. But on older cars (like the 1937 Cadillac), the fender was spaced a little way apart from the hood. The headlights were mounted toward the front of the catwalk or above it. Here's a photo. http://www.motorera.com/dictionary/ca.htm

More recently, I have also heard the term "catwalk" used when referring to the sheet metal piece that is located between the base of the rear window and the upper edge of the trunk.

Someone please tell my neighborhood cat that catwalks have been done away with.
Judging by the paw prints, he still seems to think it's 1936!

There is a rental house next door to ours and the renters, altho all nice people, all have had cats. I dislike them and our dogs bark at them. Should have to keep them on leashes same as dogs. Only my opinion.
