Hi Rock, I was on the phone with the insurance carrier again today. They wanted scanned copies of what the DMV sent, the names and dates of the people I spoke with at DMV. They are looking into it deeper. DMV would not let me make an appointment to speak to someone in person locally or in Sacramento.

The great thing about our DMV [ or any gov't agency] is you talk to 5 different people, you get 5 different answers ;-\

Well said.
Don't forget: They get paid whether your problem gets solved or not. If they dork over enough people, they get awards (and a nice pension at an early age).

As of today still no proof of insurance and I am in violation. I am cancelling my AMIG insurance and shopping for new coverage. The insurance company says they sent the information and DMV says they didn't. On to the next chapter.

Dennis, I use Grundy Worldwide. They are very reasonable and they really took care of me after the earthquake when I had damage to two cars.

Thanks for the tip Rock. I called Hegarty and they are able to provide better coverage for 800 bucks less for all the cars. American Modern Insurance (AMIG), the other carrier, didn't resolve the issue with DMV. I still have to pay the fine for no proof of insurance even though I have insurance. I have heard that they are trying to get out of the collector car insurance business. Thank you !

California DMV issues drivers Licenses easily but car registration is a pain.
30 years ago I lived in LA..Got a motorcycle..750ccTriump Didn't know how to operate it yet properly.but when to take the driver test. ..I rode over cones and nearly fell off the bike..Yet I still passed the test and got my license...Funny.

I have talked to three other people who have had similar issues with their proof of insurance and DMV. They were able to provide the info on line. The DMV will not accept my info for some reason. I am bumping this issue up a notch, to the State level.
