Default Steering box

'47 Ford sedan - is there an adjustment in the steering box to take out some play? It's a car I'm thinking of buying so I have no details.

Should be a screw on the upper side of the box, may be under a cover. Only adjust in very small increments; too tight and you will destroy the worm gear inside the box. I would inspect the whole steering system and correct any looseness outside the box before messing with that screw. JMHO

Found lifting the front end makes the adjustment much easer.
