I also found Vol. 1 club newsletter for the Fort Worth Model A Club, dated Jan. 1964.
It's their very first newsletter. Excellent condition, along with a flyer to their very first "drive in picinic". Lots of history and good info on their beginnings and their original members.
I've sent an e-mail to the club offering them this rare "car find"
Have yet to hear back, any members here?
Does your club already have an original?
See my other thread "car find" to see how I came upon this.

Logan: Check also with Mark York, Joe kept a complete file of "The Cowtown A." I was the second Editor from early 1965 to late 1968. Back in my day, ran the copies on a memograph machine which was hand cranked. Whew ! Look at the Quality of todays FWMAFC newsletter. Best regards, Jim Langley member sin 1964...

Mark still has all the archieves down at joes old parts shop in everman. I believe theres a copy of every newsletter/official document that was pre 2005 (?). When joe passed away, other members started keeping track of stuff. But everything joe ever collected is still down there.

Our grandpa was invited to be a charter member and attend that first meeting to start the club, but he didn't go. He was always mad at himself for not doing it.

Thank you Tony for the kind words.
I've only had a Model A for less then three months and have learned lots of new things about cars, and a ton of fun working on it, but the #1 thing I've learned is the vast majority of Model A people are my type of people.
We tend to do the right thing...even when no one is looking.

Happy to hear it got there safely Logan, enjoy it and share it.
So your thinking of "re-creating" the the first "drive-in picnic"? That would be awesome.
Did the Club even have a copy of this first picnic flyer?

Im not sure if they do or not, ill probably have to go down and look at the archieves to see. Weve been trying to figure out something to do for a spring actuvity. Something like that picnic would be a perfect idea.

Vol. 1 issue 2 is in the mail and on the way, don't think I be finding anymore.
But I am hoping to find a bag a $20 gold pieces when I remove the back seat...I can dream can't I?
