help with fuel line routing on a 34
Can anyone provide pics of fuel line routing? I know that as it leaves the tank it stays on top of the rear cross brace and then through the opening of the xmember, are there clips to hold in place and should it follow on top or bottom? Where should it go when it reaches the front? phew lots of ?? I should of taken pictures! Ken

Re: help with fuel line routing on a 34
The 1934 used 3 #B-14577 clips along the frame:
REAR CLIP - 5/16” hole just rear of last large lightening hole in X member (actually frame inner channel at this point); loop points down -- Photos IMG_5555 and IMG_5557 MIDDLE CLIP – Attaches to front side of rear runningboard brace bolt: loop point ups – Photo IMG_5560 (There are no clips going forward until number 3 below-see Photo IMG_5564) FRONT CLIP – Attaches to last bolt holding front fender to side rail; loop points down – Photo IMG_5568 I can email photos if lack of ID numbers is a problem. I have one more photo of the bend in the engine compartment. |

Re: help with fuel line routing on a 34
The fuel line clears the hole edge by quite a bit. The edge of the hole is actually formed to just touch against the outer frame rail, and the line is held rigidly by the rearmost and middle clamps.

That's a repro of the original copper coated steel line with the hydrostatic fuel gauge line welded to it along the whole length. 1/4" OD. I think Nacewicz may still be able to supply this part.

Zimmco, a little off topic but where did you get the battery hold down nuts? They are a special tube like nut, and I cannot find them anywhere

Re: help with fuel line routing on a 34
It really isn't a shiney as it looks from the camera flash, but that frame was the nicest I ever saw. Other than one small 4" square area near the top of the kick-up, there was absolutely no rust or pits. It was sandblasted and painted with DP primer and single stage black with no other prep or finishing. Assuming (or if) they used somewhat glossy paint, I guess it looked a lot like that originally, but Henry's paint probably lost whatever shine it had over the years.
