Mart's Update 2021 Episode 19 Part 1&2: The 32 Sedan body goes on!
Hello welcome to Mart's Garage.
Part 1: In this episode I Get the 32 Sedan body out from where it was stored and down onto the chassis. It looked a bit sketchy and it was. It's amazing how putting the body on changes the appearance completely. https://youtu.be/8YbTwzEcCnA Part 2: In this episode I end up doing something completely different to what I started out doing. I get the body bolted on and fulfil my OE hardware fixation. https://youtu.be/sK_lgkMiDvM Thanks for following along. Mart. |

Great job doing it alone. Looks good. I don't think there's any of us who have done this for a long time haven't had that heart stopping moment when the body does a little shift as we were installing it. Also most of us have worked in a small space like yours.

Great job. I’m amazed at all you get done unassisted!

Re: Mart's Update 2021 Episode 19 Part 1&2: The 32 Sedan body goes on!
Mart,
I very much enjoyed your video regarding body-to-frame hardware, but the last body-to-frame attachment did not use a hard spacer originally, but rather a 1/4" thick rubber pad on each side. Similarly, the penultimate body-to-frame attachment had a 1/8" thick rubber pad on each side between the body and the chassis frame. If you use metal spacers, you run the risk of fractures showing up along the seams between the body's back panel and the quarter panels, especially since your goal is to drive the car extensively and if your car does not have a late frame with the inner reinforcements to the side rails at the rear cross member. |

Re: Mart's Update 2021 Episode 19 Part 1&2: The 32 Sedan body goes on!
Thanks Fellas.
David, all points noted. This body had fatigue all around that area (where the light brown primer is). I think there was a remnant of the rubber pad in that tub o bolts. I will look for a suitable substitute and make the swap. This frame was badly broken over the axle. It had no extra strengthening of any sort, other than the doublers where the shock absorbers bolt on. It great having the real experts looking over your shoulder. Thanks. |

Good job getting all of that done alone. I don't know if I would have been as fussy about the hardware as you were. I agree with mfirth. Take us for a ride.
